MUNICIPAL SUPPORT TO SPORT DEVELOPMENT

Palilula Municipal project `MODERNSPORT` that will be realized in the partnership with the Municipality of Botevgrad (Bulgaria) within the Programme of cross-border cooperation Bulgaria – Serbia within IPP fund after the accepted changes in project activities will be continued with the realization. The main project was made, emphasized PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality and now the construction of projected sport terrains can start at the surface of 4,400 m2 in separated building of Kralj Petar Prvi school in Pasi Poljana. In order to develop and promote sport, according president Novakovic, several sports (terrains/courts) facilities will be constructed here: volleyball, basketball and handball, tennis court, fitness trails, ski jump, athletics track. The value of this investment, which will be realized with the support of the EU by the end of this year is about 218 480.74 Euros.

On this occasion, the team of this Cross-border program with Boban Mikic, member of the Palilula Municipal Council, visited the location of separated school building "Kralj Petar I" in Pasi Poljana. Residents, especially the young people of this part of Palilula, will get ideal conditions for the development and practicing of sports and recreational activities. This investment in the words of Boban Mikic, which after the project of Palilula Municipality was supported by EU IPA funds under the program CBC Bulgaria-Serbia, is an example of how the Municipality consistently achieves balanced territorial development and also the example that significant investments not only go for the `narrow city` purposes but are being realized in villages and settlements in the developing world.
